Tattoos Obtain a can of Tattoo Goo. Remove bandage after 1-2 hours do not re-bandage with anything absorbent. This includes non-stick or telfa pads. Wash tattoo carefully with a mild soap and water. Remove all traces of blood. Gently pat dry. DO NOT SOAK. Apply Tattoo Goo sparingly. Use only as much as your skin will absorb. Avoid using too much. Keep the tattoo uncovered as much as possible. Tattoos need oxygen to heal properly. During the healing, avoid sun and tanning lights, lake water, sea water, chlorinated pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam baths, direct spray from a shower or prolonged soaking in a bath. Also avoid scratching, picking, bumping, rubbing, sweat or strain from exercise, clothing that may stick or rub and clothing that has been dry cleaned or chemically treated. Wear loose, natural fabrics that breathe. Avoid poor personal hygiene and poor diet. If tattoo scabs allow the scabs to fall off by themselves. Flaking and scabbing are normal. DO NOT pick or scratch at the tattoo, this would cause the tattoo to loose color. The tattoo pigment bonds to the skin cells in-between the permanent basal layer and the constantly exfoliating epidermis. It is normal to have small pieces of inked skin flake off during the healing process. In approximately 4 to 10 days any flaking will be gone and your tattoo will he healed but still very sensitive. Regular and frequent applications of tattoo goo, or a quality hand and body lotion will condition the skin, provide protection and remove any milk scale of the skin the is visible on a new tattoo for a few weeks. After a few months you may sun bathe in moderation using a total (SPF 30-50) sunblock that provides both UVA and UVB protection. Apply frequently. Touch-ups: Touch-ups may be necessary to get rich, dense coverage on black work. A touch-up is included in the cost of your tattoo (although a touch-up is not always necessary). Ideally, touch-ups may be booked 6 to 8 weeks after healing. Infection: We take every precaution to ensure that you receive a clean tattoo free from anything that can result in infection. Any infection is usually the result of negligence in aftercare. Signs of infection include excessive redness and heat, prolonged swelling, soreness and/or discharge. At first sign of infection call us immediately. If you follow our guidelines you should have no problems with your new tattoo. In the event the infection persists more than two days, see a doctor immediately. Download printable instructions here: AftercareTat.pdf
Body PiercingAlways wash hands thoroughly before handling your piercing. THIS CAN NOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH. The major cause of all piercing problems occur from handling the piercing with dirty hands. Obtain a bottle of H2 Ocean spray. After washing hands, with soap and water spray directly on the piercing. Allow the spray to absorb into the piercing. Do not touch the body piercing while it is healing! Also, do not let anyone else touch, lick or kiss the body piercing. Do not let the body piercing come in contact with another persons bodily fluids. Do not change the jewelry until the piercing is completely healed. Some body piercings may take months to years to completely heal. Things to avoid: Hot tubs & public pools, alcohol, drugs, caffeine and asprin, tanning beds and direct sun light and tight fitting clothes. Also avoind using peroxide, alcohol or hand soap because they may damage healthy cells and cause scar tissue. While using H2Ocean sea salt spray avoid using any other product during the healing process.
Tongue PiercingObtain a bottle of H2Ocean sea salt spray. Spray H2Ocean spray directly onto pierced area. Allow spray to absorb into the tongue. Use spray 3-6 times daily. Brush and gargle after every time you eat. Healing time is approximately two weeks. Keep balls on the barbell tight so as not to accidentally swallow them. Do so by grasping the bar ball by each end and turning them towards each other. You may remove the barbell by reversing this action. Because of the healing qualities of the mouth, removing the jewelry for extended periods of time may cause the hole to close, even after the piercing is healed. These instructions must be followed through out the healing process. We do not recommend that you smoke during the healing or afterward. Smoking with a fresh piercing can cause a variety of health risks. After your piercing is healed completely, you may change the jewelry. Download printable instructions here: AftercarePierce.pdf
